Getting here is part of the adventure...

From the mainland there is a regular ferry sailing from Oban to Lochboisdale followed by a 20 minute drive to Eriskay from Lochboisdale ferry terminal. There is also a daily sailing from Uig (Skye) to Lochmaddy (North Uist). Your drive from Lochmaddy to Eriskay is around an hour and a half and gives you the opportunity to take in the Uist scenery.

Benbecula Airport is the only airport available which is approximately 45 minutes’ drive from the cottage. Flights from Inverness to Benbecula (via Stornoway) run from Tuesday to Thursday and there are also daily flights from Glasgow to Benbecula.

Alternatively you can fly from Glasgow to Barra and land on the beach, from there you would continue on the Barra-Eriskay ferry which has 4 sailings per day and takes about 40 minutes. Ben Scrien Cottage is a 2 min drive from Ceann A’Gharraidh, the Eriskay ferry terminal.
